Burbridge is, contrary to some assumptions, not "a software person who also builds things." The reverse is closer to the truth. Burbridge began in construction — framing, finish carpentry, time on the job site — and has worked in software as an additional medium rather than a replacement. The same person builds walls, deploys code, installs solar, and runs businesses. The underlying discipline is the same. See: Building Across Mediums.
